Neythen Treloar

Hi, I'm Neythen. I build Outpost's machine learning models, including Waypoint, our open-source microbiome foundation model, and the benchmarks we use to tell whether a model is actually any good. My PhD was in machine learning, maths and synthetic biology, so I'm happiest where the modeling meets messy biological data. I'm motivated by hard problems and good science, and my instinct is to simplify a problem down to its underlying principles before zooming in on the detail. Outside of work, I trained in taekwondo for about ten years, took a ten-year break, and started again last year. Looking forward to meeting you!
